Below we feature a sampling of case results for September and October of 2020. We avoided reckless driving convictions for a number of high speed cases, involving speeds as high as 105 mph! We avoided convictions for criminal charges such as: DUI, reckless driving by speed, eluding the police (felony) and eluding the police (misdemeanor), no operator’s license, and a misdemeanor tunnel height violation in Hampton. Reckless driving dismissals occurred in cities such as Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Suffolk, Southampton, and Hampton.
Notable cases:
- September 1: DUI in Hampton GDC was reduced to a reckless driving with no jail time! Our client’s second charge of reckless driving was dismissed. Click here to read more about DUI defense.
- September 8: eluding police (misdemeanor charge) dismissed in Virginia Beach GDC. Believe it or not, the officer was pursuing our client on a pedal bicycle with no sirens or headlights.
- September 11: Attorney Louie handled 3 reckless driving by speed cases (80/55, 86/55, 89/55) that were all dismissed in Virginia Beach GDC.
- September 22: Reckless driving by speed at 86/60 dismissed in Southampton GDC.
- September 24: Attorney Carroll had a VBGDC 90/55 case reduced to 14 over. Rare for a win like this in the lower court.
- October 1: Two reckless driving cases dismissed in Virginia Beach and one in Norfolk GDC.
- October 5: Suffolk GDC reckless driving dismissed.
- October 6: Attorney Carroll’s two reckless driving cases dismissed in Virginia Beach GDC.
- October 7: Reckless driving in excess of 85 mph dismissed in Norfolk GDC.
- October 8: VBGDC 86/55 RD reduced to 19 over
- October 13: Southampton GDC, 96/60 RD reduced to 14 over.
- October 16: This was a busy day in the Virginia Beach Courthouse. An eluding police (felony charge) was reduced to a misdemeanor, 3 reckless driving by speed cases dismissed, 2 reckless driving by speed cases reduced to infractions.
- October 20: Client at 96/55 in Northampton GDC avoids jail.
- October 21: Client at 95/55 in Virginia Beach GDC avoids jail.
- October 22: We helped 3 clients avoid misdemeanors in Virginia Beach Circuit Court for reckless driving by speed at 105 mph, 91, mph and 90 mph. The charge of reckless driving by speed at 105 mph was reduced to a speeding infraction in the Virginia Beach Circuit Court. Also that day we helped a client charged with a DUI with an elevated BAC receive no jail time!
- October 26: A no driver’s license charge in Virginia Beach dismissed.
- October 28: In the Hampton GDC a misdemeanor overheight violation charge was dismissed.
